While I was AFK over the holidays, a whole slew of blogs were started by people on the Poetics list. For those who don't know, Ron Silliman has been blogging for awhile, but it took him a while to begin to move out of the univocalness of print, and that prompted a bit of a controversy on Poetics, mostly because Ron's blog didn't seem to adhere to the ad-hoc rules of the blog genre--his blog had no blogroll, no comments feature, no conversational tone.
Whether criticism on Ron's blog was fair or not, it did get other Poetics members looking at the concept of blogging. And now quite a few have started blogs. Here's list of the newer Poetics blogs (if I miss any, let me know):
ululations (Nada Gordon)
Elsewhere (Gary Sullivan)
Equanimity (Jordan Davis)
Pantaloons (Jack Kimball)
lime tree (K. Silem Mohammad)
the tijuana bible of poetics (Heriberto Yepez)
Jonathan Meyhew's blog
HG Poetics (Henry Gould)
Lester's Flogspot
Overlap (Drew Gardner)
They join a few older blogs by Poetics members:
squish
texturl
free space comix
Laurable
Ptarmigan
I'm sure I'm missing some. Please toss URLs out in the comments section if you know of any.
I've been reading all of them as best I can and will blogroll my favorites soon. What is so interesting is that the writers have in essence defined themselves in a communal manner. They all have each other on their blogrolls, which establishes their writing within a reading community, something that I thin is key to blogging success. It will be interesting to see how this community's blogrolls sprout; there are many varied interests here, so the potential for a diverse discourse community is great.

One new blog you can add would be Eileen Tabios's "Wine Poetics", which can be found at:
